Most furniture these days comes with some form of a protective layer, as it can be see on first glance of the piece. Over time through various uses they do tend to loose their new look, and become weathered and damaged from use.
Its extremely important prior to purchasing the piece of timber furniture that you closely inspect the many aspects of the piece. As some pieces say they are genuine timber material with 100% lifetime expectancy but can sometimes be a cheaply imported piece of hollow wood. If the piece is an overseas import it could potentially contain poisonous chemicals in the coating, be thin wood, flimsy in the design of the joining and be prone to termite and other bug damages.
When you purchase a genuine piece of timber furniture you need to be well aware of regular cleaning with the right products that a specifically recommended for your piece. Any multipurpose cleaning spray specifies it can be used on many surfaces, but its best to do your research into what would be suitable, as this could strip the surface and cause more damage.
If you choose to purchase an imported piece, it may be cheaper in price due to the poorly design and materials used in the piece. It could actually cost you more money in the long run as the piece won't last as long and need to be replaced often.
To ensure your furniture has a long life expectancy to be used and passed on from family member to family member as a family air loom, selecting a genuine timber piece that is built to last and taking care to keep the material well protected.

Selling your own home
Selling your own home can be a difficult decision. There may be many reasons why you have chosen to sell your home such as to move to a new location, up-size to a bigger house, or to even downsize to a smaller home.
Whatever you decision to sell you have two options - To sell your house yourself or get an agent to sell it.
There are many advantages to getting an agent to sell the house for you. An agent would take care of the listing, showing people through the house and may even be able to get a high price than the market value.
However, if you believe you can do all this yourself, you can bypass an agent and sell the house yourself. The major advantage of selling the house yourself is you don't have to pay commissions meaning more money in your pocket.
The major disadvantage of going through an agent is that the agent may look to sell the property quickly. Agents will look to get their commissions quickly rather than holding out for a buyer willing to pay an extra ten thousand to twenty thousand dollars as it doesn't add that much more to their commission. So it is almost in the agents interest to sell the house quick, get their commission and then move on to selling their next house.
By selling the house yourself you have full control over all aspects of the sale. From taking the photos, listing the property, all the way through to handing over the keys.
You may want to undertake some research before decide to sell your property on your own. There are many fantastic resources online or at your local library.
